Awesome.

Now it’s time to write a guest post and send it to the editor.

In this article, we’ll discuss how to do it:

5 Actionable Tips to Write a Guest Post

Authority sites only publish quality content. So. your guest post must be as good or better than what you publish on your own blog.

Here are some quick tips to create a high-quality guest post:

1. Show Your Exact Process or System

A proven process or system has more value than a set of general tips and hacks. Agree?

Did you create a system to achieve the desired goal? Show the step-by-step process.

For example, with my DBI guest post, I showed people the exact steps I used to create in-depth content:

system

No, Blah Blah. Just a process that anyone could follow.

2. Create Long (In-depth) Post

I aim for around 1500 words for high authority sites.

But don’t just put the words out there for the sake of the long post. No bluff. Your content should be actionable. Break the content into subheadings and bullet points.

For example, my Shout Me Loud post is a staggering 2500 words. But there’s no bluff. Only actionable content:

3. Use Screenshots and Charts

Visuals make a post stand out and add a lot of value to your article.

I add A LOT of screenshots, charts, and images in my articles (both guest posts and personal blog posts).

4. Add Link to Site’s Other Posts

Don’t forget to link to the site’s 1-2 posts in your guest post. It will make your post more valuable.

Yes, it will take extra effort to find relevant posts to link to. But it will show the site editor that you actually care.

For example, I linked to a handful of other posts on the DBI blog:

internal link

5. Say Thank You after Publishing the Post

Once the post is live, send the editor a quick Thank You email. Not most of the people do this. So it will help you stand out, and the editor will surely appreciate it. 🙂

And don’t forget to share your post on social media.

It’s Your Turn!

So that’s the system I follow. What about you?
